More writings about the City Council

On Wednesday, my class visited the City Council.  First, we played for 4 minutes in a square.  Then we met our guide Mercedes.  Next, we entered to City Council and we sat down in a very comfortable benches, Mercedes explained to us the space betweened the benches was, a long time ago, a type of ´garage´ for the carriages.  Later, we saw some beautiful tapestries of the Troyans and the Greeks figihting in the war of Troy.  After that, we saw beautiful ceiling with stained glass windows in beautiful colours.  This ceiling was in the baroque style.  Finally, we sat down in the journalists´ seats in the Saol de Plenos, a room where the parties talk about the economy of Spain, what we can do to have a clean city etc.
There were lots of paintings.
The visit to the City Council was amazing and I learned many things.  My favourite thing was the Salon de Plenos.

First of all, the guide showed us the entrance of the City Hall.  It has got 3 flags; the Spanish flag, the flag of the Community of Madrid and the City of Madrid´s flag.  In the entrance was a room where the petitions were filed.  Sara said it was like a 6YM.  Then a statue that used to be in a fountain.  Then there was another where where the room was covered in stained glass windows with picturesa of the Toledo fountain and Alcala Gate.  After that, we went to a room where they used to make new rules.  We sat in the seats.  They were very comfortable.  Finally with saw a room with the paintings of Goya and there was a very big chandelier made of glass.  It was a very good day.
